There are two options when a character reaches level 20 on Unwritten Destiny; players can have their characters continue passed level or choose to reforge their character. An experience chart will be posted up when a character reaches level 20.
Players that choose to have their character continue their character beyond level 20 can choose to start a new class without needing to meet the minimum requirement to multi-class or continue to the same class. If a character continues the same class they can choose a new archetype for their class or continue with them same one and just gain extra bonuses. Currently we do not have benefits made for same archetype beyond 20..
What does it mean to reforge your character. Reforging your character is like prestiging your character. Your character will become level once again, but will gain additional benefits. Prestiging allows a players to gain more Point Buy Points to spend on their attributes at level one, that said; ALL CHARACTERS THAT REFORGE START AT LEVEL 1 REGARDLESS OF MINIMUM STARTING LEVEL. Also there are different reforge paths that players can try to achieve before reforging their character. Some reforge paths unlock more reforge paths for later one within the game. Players can reforge their characters when the character's experience points equal the level of 21, 31, 41, 51 and so on. Any player that decides to level their pc's at one of the reforge markers, must wait till the next one at later levels. Players can try to have their characters meet several reforge paths if they will.
A character that reforges 5 times will be able to duel class after their 5th reforge or if they reach level 80.
Characters that gained any achievement feats, keep their feats and benefits even if they reforged. Characters also get to keep all their items, gold, properties, reputation and anything they may have.
Reforging is a dangerous method, if a character is known for its strength and constitution within a battle over countless fights. That reputation will still be there when your level 1, non playable characters and playable characters if any are enemies, if they find out you reforge you character will become a target. Character's that reforge, we urge that you do not tell anyone in character.
When the game system and game setting is up fully, the posts above will change. Dual Classing is actually a difficult reforge path that can't be converted to 5th edition effectively.
