All players start as Unaligned as a default alignment for their characters. Players that want to have a specific alignment for their character must submit a background for their character describing their character's alignment. They must give examples within the background as proof of their alignment. Normally players will gain an alignment either from a magical item, learning it from a teacher, sensei, Sempai, parent and other actions within character. Then over a period of time the Dungeon Master Team will decide what they character's alignment feels like it should be. Alignments can still change, no alignment is ever set in stone.
Characters that are chaotic to the extreme, and/or chaotic evil must have a list of things that may set their character off, or have them react in a negative way. Negative way could be refusing to work with others because they step on a certain flower. If your character is forced to be with them, the character could refuse to help them and if any hostility from the other characters it could cause him to either run away or attack. We require these so if something should arise where another character is killed from player vs player combat, it will be listed on the sheet so players can't say it was planned.
Characters that are lawful we would like them to list a few things to be listed on their sheet why they are lawful and/or disciplined.
Characters that are other alignments are more than welcomes to include notes on their sheet as well.
True Neutral is considered unaligned. Characters that have an alignment are able to gain bonus experience points which we like to call Alignment XP (AXP). Players playing their character's alignment, that have notations about their alignment on their character sheet can gain experience points up to 25 times their level. AXP does not count against max experience points (if any) within an adventure, scene or quest.
